apple launches contact tracing

The moment we have been dreading is finally here!

Apple, in its recently released software update, has added contact tracing capabilities to all iPhones and Google is set to follow if they have not done so already.

This comes turned off as you update, but are we sure it is?

Below is how you can find the setting on your phone.

The settings require a specific Health app to turn on the setting and when installed shows how many times the information has cataloged and how many IDs you have been by.

This has the potential to change the face of our relationship with technology. The companies involved claim that this information is kept extremely private, but are we really certain that this data will not be sold to the highest bidder when this is over. History has shown us that any infringements on our civil liberties stick around when the current crisis is over.

In the past few weeks, France began to develop its version and Australia launched theirs. However, Apple and Google far exceed the reach of any single country. The privacy aspect of this has been researched by the Harvard School of Public Health, but only time will tell the state of our location freedoms.

Keep your location private and regain your privacy and security. Be aware of what is happening all over the world in regards to your own liberties, the time to act is now.

Thanks for valuable info. I’m wondering must I update? I have iPhone and may need those for other protections against data viruses.
