Go Outside Daily!

Go Outside

Spending time outside is one of the most straightforward methods to boost your mental health and well-being. In reality, there has never been a more critical time for the advantages of nature or a greater need for them.

In the current state, people the world round have been inside more than ever before and even if you don't believe it, it's taking a toll on your mental health.

Even if you're a self-proclaimed homebody, a change of scenery could be beneficial. Spending time in nature has been shown to promote physical and mental health, prevent illness, and even make people happier!

At SLNT® we advocate even spending 15 minutes during your workday outside to reset your mental capacity and not feel completely worn out at the end.

The following five ways that being outside can improve your health and well-being:

#1 A breath of fresh air

Simply taking a daily walk can help increase your vitality, reduce your blood pressure, and pulse rate.

#2 Exercise in the outdoors seems easier

If you exercise inside everyday, try mixing in the outdoors. In one short study, researchers had bikers pedal in front of the green, grey, and red video imagery. Bicyclists who exercised in front of the green reported less physical exertion and more pleasant moods, implying that grass, trees, and plants can help you get a psychological energy boost from your activity.

#3 Assists in the Reduction of Anxiety

Even a few plant or nature photographs in the room will help you feel less worried, irritated, and agitated. However, you should leave that place and go outside. Exercise can also help with anxiety and Serotonin levels are maintained by exposure to sunlight. This will help you feel more energized while also keeping your mood peaceful, happy, and focused.

#4 Enhances concentration

Adults and children who have trouble focusing or managing their impulses are more able to concentrate after spending time in nature. The outdoor world gives our brains a vacation from everything that consumes us In the online/digital world.

#5  Increases Creativity

Do you have a difficult challenge that you can't seem to solve? Do you have writer's block? Spend time in the fresh air. According to studies, spending time in nature can help you solve problems more creatively. This is partly because the outside world attracts your attention more calmly, allowing you to refocus your attention. The more time you spend outside = the greater the benefit, but even "going out for some fresh air" might nudge your brain into a new thought pattern.

While going outside is great, if you're taking your phone with you then not much has really changed. If you insist on taking your phone with you then consider storing in a Faraday Sleeve so that you are free from any notifications and distractions.
