New Years Resolution 2022: Get Off Your Devices

It's New Years Eve in the United States and with that we are looking to how we can make 2022 even better.

Over the last two years, one thing has been an unfortunate constant. Our daily device use, outside of necessities (work, etc.), has been constantly rising. We spearheaded an effort to make people aware of this earlier this year with the launch of our Phone Detox Program.

Our phones are the biggest culprit of our daily device use, with the average being over 5 hours a day on our phones!

That's at least 2.5 months out of the whole year on your phone! Just think of the other things you could be doing!

  • Reading a book!
  • Taking a hike!
  • Morning Walks
  • Daily Stretching
  • Daily Meditation
  • Surf, Bike, and More!

Just think that in the 5+ hours a day on your phone that you could accomplish all of that and probably get more sleep! Because we all know that's probably our #1 complaint everyday.

The most common new year's resolutions are probably to eat better, or too exercise more, but we think that limiting your device use should be at the top of your (and your families list).

This might be harder than you think.

These days, our devices are designed to pull you in with sounds, notifications, and more that give you a dopamine hit every few seconds. This means that you can try by just putting your phone aside or in a drawer, but the sounds might ultimately pull you back in.

Adding in a communal family Faraday Sleeve or individual ones mean that your devices will be completely blocked from all communication (calls, texts, emails, app notifications, etc.) and you will be able to be in the present moment with yourself or family.
