Job Title: SBIR Project Manager

Reporting To: CEO and Director of Business Development

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead our SBIR project. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing research and development projects, preferably within the context of SBIR or similar government-funded programs. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project, ensuring that it meets all milestones, stays within budget, and aligns with both federal guidelines and our company's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of the project.

Resource Management:

  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure that the project complies with SBIR program requirements.
  • Prepare and present reports on project progress, problems, and solutions to stakeholders.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, including team members, management, and federal program officers.
  • Act as a point of contact and communicate project status adequately to all participants.

Risk Management:

  • Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the project budget.
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and project objectives.
  • Supervise and assess the performance of the project team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field. If no college experience then a strong track record in managing and executing government contracts is a must.
  • Proven working experience in project management, preferably with SBIR or government-funded projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management tools.
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities, multi-task, and meet deadlines.

Maintain Clear Communication between the different departments and how their different needs work together.

A quick learner who is able to problem solve and work towards a solution with an understanding of the first principle problem being solved for.

An analytical thinker who uses data to align and drive the business towards its goals and overall strategies.

Team-oriented with amazing communication skills, a positive attitude, and consistent energy.

Excellent time management and follow-up skills.

You can handle difficult situations with grace while under pressure.
