Special Program Manager SBIR / DoD

Mission

The mission for the DoD Special Projects Manager is to successfully manage active DoD projects and identifying new opportunities as it relates to both SBIR and other Federal Contract pursuits through a mix of hands on work, delegation and oversight of SLNT team and sub contractors. The role drives timely milestone acceptance and contract completion, aiming to meet or exceed established timelines.

Outcomes

Successfully manage current and future SBIR submissions. Aiming to become the SLNT dedicated SBIR program manager. 

Onboard quickly to SLNT’s processes and software's with 100% comprehension and accuracy. 

Interface as SLNT’s POC with DoD TPOC’s and personell for on time meetings, scheduling, interaction. 

Interface as SLNT’s lead to organize and efficiently keep team on track to hit milestones with TPOC acceptance and payment. 

Facilitate or create all written deliverables including reports, admin paperwork due for approval in coordination with milestone schedule.

Coordinate all departments and subcontractors for an on time (even early) completion before milestone submission. Work closely with engineers, product managers and suppliers. 

Work hand in hand with Business Development to continually identify and present and submit for new sales and funding opportunities within DoD and federal government that fit SLNT criteria.

Special Note on Experience

  • Preferred Designator: 63 Alpha Acquisition Manager experience is highly desirable.
  • Must-Have Skills: Fluency in DoD terminology, extensive knowledge of contracting processes, and proven success managing SBIR milestones.
  • Familiarity with Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) and FAR-based R&D contracts is essential.
  • Education & Experience: Four-year BS degree or equivalent experience in DoD program management.
  • Background in integrating engineering efforts with verifiable references.
  • Tech Proficiency: Exceptional ability to adopt and leverage new software and internal SLNT processes.
