They Tracked You

Hey!

Remember at the beginning of all these weird times when we told you that they were using your phones location data to track your movements? Well, if you didn't believe us then - It's just been proven.

It was found that in the United States, the CDC bought cell phone location data to track curfew compliance and other measures and listed COVID-19 as their "main" reason.

They bought a license from a controversial data platform, SafeGraph, with an open-ended lists of reasoning by design. These included, "'monitoring curfews, neighbor-to-neighbor visits, visits to churches, schools and pharmacies, and also a variety of analysis with this data specifically focused on ‘violence.’” (The document doesn’t stop at churches; it mentions “places of worship.')"

Now in the past, we've highlighted that it doesn't take much to really track where someone has been based off of their mobile phone data, but it is shocking how far this organization has gone to track the people of the United States.

If you read through the lines, you can see that this is a blatant push to have everyone on a trackable grid. In extreme cases (for now) during the last two years you can see how states like Hawaii were treating tourists leaving their rooms and other countries like Australia fining people thousands of dollars. With this being the start of real and open adoption of these practices, there is an unknown on what can and will happen when everyone is openly tracked.

The uses above allude to fines, but if we go deep down this we could see a future where your employer is tracking your movements, your government doesn't allow you into certain locations based on where you have been, or more.

Fortunately, for now there is still a solution. As much as we would love to tell you to leave your phone at home, that's not very realistic.

The best way to move throughout the modern world is to use a Faraday Sleeve, blocking all GPS, WiFi, Cellular, or Bluetooth signals too and from your phone. In other words, any signal that could be used to track you or your phone.

If you do need to use your phone, try and pick a safe location such as a place you have already frequented many times, such as your home, a grocery store, coffee shop, etc.
